Commenting Policy

First of all, thank you for commenting. The goal of the comments section is to provide a place for honest and respectful conversation based on the given topic at hand. I understand that it takes time, effort, and thoughtfulness to put together a meaningful comment, and I appreciate your willingness to be a part of the discussion.
That said, please remember that this section is provided as a privilege, not a right, and the contents are subject to the website’s terms of use policy. E. J. Knight reserves the right to edit and delete comments and to block commenters, should these measures be deemed necessary.
Please note that by using this section in any way, you acknowledge that E. J. Knight is not responsible, legally or otherwise, for the comments made by readers, and you agree to hold E. J. Knight harmless.
Ownership of Comments
Commenters retain ownership of their comments, but grant E. J. Knight license to post them. By commenting, commenters acknowledge the content is their own and is not the intellectual property of anyone else. Commenters also accept full responsibility, legal or otherwise, for what they say.
Moderation Policy
Comments are open, and will not be moderated before being posted. They will, however, be moderated after posting, and any comments found to be in violation of this policy may be edited or deleted, at the discretion of the moderators, and this may be done with or without explanation. Extreme or repeat offences may result in the commenter being blocked from commenting at all.
Commenting Requirements
To comment, you must give your name and email. Anonymous comments will be deleted, as will comments that list a website or business name in the name field. The email provided will be used as needed to get in touch with you about your comment. Comments that include any kind of personal and/or private information will be deleted as soon as possible.
Encouraged Comments
The types of comments that I encourage are those that show you read the article. This might involve opinions, follow-up questions, or questions relevant to the topic of the post. Constructive criticism and suggestions are also always welcome. Comments should help continue the conversation, including debates and disagreements, relevant links, and anything else that might add value. All comments and commenters are expected to remain civil and respectful.
Unacceptable Behavior
The following list is not exhaustive, and includes behaviors that will not be tolerated in any comments:
Off-topic, Libelous, Defamatory, Abusive, Harassing, Threatening, Pornographic, Offensive, False, Misleading, Promotional, Disrespectful, Bigotry of any kind, Belligerence, Derogatory, Inflammatory
Unacceptable Comments
The types of responses that have no place on the blog will result in the editing or deleting of comments, or blocking of commenters. Bots and spam will be deleted as soon as they’re found. Direct attacks on other commenters, and violations of intellectual property laws will also be removed. Any attempts to promote yourself, your business, or your website, including sales pitches and affiliate and promotional links are additional forms of inappropriate content. Links to inappropriate sites will be removed as soon as they’re found. Finally, E. J. Knight reserves the right to edit or remove any other comments not listed above that may otherwise be considered irrelevant or harmful.
When To Contact
Readers are welcome to contact me via email with any questions on this or any other site policy, or if you believe you’ve found a comment that breaks the rules. E. J. Knight can also delete comments at the commenters request, for any reason. For messages regarding any of this, please include “Comments” as the subject, as well as what comment, written by which commenter, needs to be addressed and why.
